Our Story

André and Emily met when she was attending nursing school in Salt Lake City, Utah. While at a bar, she heard someone speaking Portuguese and turned around to see André. They like to joke they found love in a hopeless place. Emily first walked up to André, but the conversation didn't last long since she felt so nervous. But before she left the bar with her friends, André had asked for her phone number to take her on a date. After they had their first date, they were inseparable. As Emily prepared to move home after graduating, André decided he would move to California when she returned. He seamlessly blended into her family and friends. In January of 2023, André proposed to Emily in Laguna Beach overlooking the ocean. They dreamt of a wedding abroad and chose Portugal as the perfect symbol of their union.
